Emned straightened his tie as he walked into the office building. He looked around and saw the receptionist eyeing him. He gave a weak smile and walked over to her.
“Good day sir, how can I help you?”
“Yes…I am looking for a mister Forman,”
“Mister Forman…let me look that up,” she said typing something on her computer. “Ah yes, he works on the third floor, room 326. Do you want me to call him?”
“That won’t be necessary, he’s expecting me,” Emned said firmly. The receptionist nodded slowly and pointed to the elevator.
“Have a good day sir,”
“You too miss,” Emned said. He stepped into the elevator and pushed the button to the third floor. He pulled a Westek out of his pocket and checked the clip. “Let’s hope I don’t have to use it,” he murmured to himself putting the gun back. The elevator stopped and the doors opened. A long hallway with doors on either side appeared.
“Room 326…room 326…” he whispered walking past the doors. He looked at a brown door with a sign on to it, 326. He knocked on the door and opened it. A older man with brown hair that was receding looked at him.
“Mister Forman?” Emned asked.
“Yes, and you are?” Forman asked.
“My name is Malcolm Rush, MCPD,” he showed a fake badge. “I have some questions for you,” Emned said as formally as he could. The old man looked at him worried. He slowly raised his arm and pointed to a chair. Emned sat down and tried to analyze the man. He looked worried but not stressed or anxious. He wasn’t looking at escape routes nor making any movements to raise an alarm.
“What can I do for you Mister Rush?” Forman asked.
“Last night there was a break in not far from here by a strange looking man, dressed in leather, with a hood and probably a mask to scare people. My informants tell me you were nearby at that time, I would like to know if you saw or heard anything,”
Forman raised his hand to his chin and stroke his chin as if there was a beard. Apparently deep in thought.
“I might have seen him…although I’m not sure, I definitely heard some screaming and maybe a gun, but I’m not familiar with guns at all so I won’t be able to tell,”
Malcolm nodded.
“You might have seen him?”
“Yes…I think I saw something on the roofs...”
“Hmmm, do you remember which way this something was going?”
“I think he went to this Church in Mara, or at least that way,”
“Thanks mister Forman, this will certainly help my investigation,”
“Glad I could help,” Forman said standing up. Emned stood up to and shook his hand.
“If you remember anything else, anything at all, don’t be afraid to call me,” Emned said giving him a card with a number on it. Forman nodded. Five minutes later Emned was standing outside and his phone rang.
“Yes?”
“What do you think?” Davis asked.
“Could be him…most probably not, but at least it’s something to research,”
“What’s the next step?”
“Inform Iviera, she would want to know and we still need to find the right node to crack,”
“Will do, what are you going to do?”
“I’ll go check the Mara area and then go to Lamar in Downtown…there is something I need to do there, let me know what Ivy wants A.S.A.P.,”
“Okay, see you later Em,”
“Emned out,” Emned replied putting the phone back in his pocket. He looked up closing his eyes for a second and then jumped.
