***These are our rules and failure or refusal to abide by them can result in expulsion from this faction.***
1. MISSION STATEMENT - To protect all innocent sentient beings from threats in the Matrix and the Real. To uphold the Truce and will work with other organizations to defend it.
2. CONDUCT
A. We always keep our word. Never make a promise you can't keep.
B. Be respectful of your enemies and allies alike. Do not harass, swear, or use hateful language against anyone. If someone is doing it to you, there are two useful commands: /ccr and /ignore. Let it become the Devs' problem.
C. Always back up a fellow Trust member in need. Accept no compensation for something done for a fellow Trust member. (i.e. don't charge a Trust member for a made ability, expect payment for code bits given to another Trust member, etc.)
D. Obey orders or commands given to you by your superior officer.
E. Remain active. If you are an officer who has been inactive for a minimum of 14 days without given leave, you will be demoted. If any member is inactive for more then 30 days without given leave, you will be removed.
F. Give notice for extended absences. If you need to be out of game for an extended period of time, please post your leave notice in The Trust forum.
G. Remain loyal to Zion. Do not do Machine missions or Merovingian missions.
H. Alternate characters. It's okay if you have an alternate character that is of a different org, however, any intel that you gain in the Trust stays IN THE TRUST. If you are caught leaking information via your alternate character you will be removed from the faction immediately.
I. This is worth repeating, so if you are caught leaking information you will be removed from the faction immediately.
J. Conduct yourself in a professional, mature, manner. You are an extension of this faction, and as such, your actions represent the faction. If you are perpetually immature and annoy the faction as a whole, you will be given a warning. If it continues, you will be removed.
3. ROLEPLAYING
A. Remember that we are an RP faction.
B. When you are jacked in, you are in-character. Area chat is in-character speak ONLY. If you wish to speak out-of-character, do so in Faction or Crew chat. If you need to speak OOC in Area, please follow the standard RP convention of parenthesis. (( ))
C. For the love of God, avoid the use of L337 speak.
D. Never belittle another player because of their level. Level only means something in PvP or missions. It should not play a factor in RP.
4. LIVE EVENTS & PLAYER EVENTS
A. Always be respectful and mature when speaking with a member of the Live Events Team. Even if it is an enemy character, refrain from using foul language or hatespeak.
B. If you are logged in during a Live Event, you are required to help your fellow Trust members to participate in it. Please do not run missions when everyone else is out fighting Agent Smith (for example).
C. Keep yourself up to date on the Live Event via Data Node One. Keep yourself well informed so as to minimize the amount of briefing you'll need while an event is happening. Sometimes, it's not possible to give an update when you're participating in an event. (i.e. chasing the Assassin)
D. If possible, please try to keep your fellow members as well-informed as you can.
E. Report anything unusual to your commanding officers. (i.e. some porcelian faced guy in a ragged trenchcoat just walked by and killed you with a lightning bolt)
F. If a player event catches your eye that you want to participate in, let your team know. We'll all try to do it as a team.
G. Be respectful of the person running the event. A lot of hard work goes into making and running a player event, so be appreciative that someone is trying to do something to better the community. Even if the event sucks, thank the person. Nothing's worse then spending days making an event only to have someone tell you it sucks.
4. PvP - PLAYER VS. PLAYER
A. Always try to engage someone around your level. Never engage someone that is more then 8 levels below you.
B. Never willingly participate in a "ganking". This is when 3 or more people gang up on one guy.
C. Again, avoid using foul language and hatespeak. This violates the GPC. If someone insults you or offends you, report them for abuse, put them on ignore, and then leave the PvP. We don't have to put up with that crap, and we shouldn't bother playing with someone who is like that.
D. When possible, try to have some RP reasons for engaging in PvP. And remember, Area Chat is IN CHARACTER!
E. Red is NOT dead in this faction. There are a number of enemy factions that we consider allies. Do NOT attack an allied member. If we are engaged in PvP, ask in faction/crew/team chat if anyone is off limits. Nothing is worse then calling in some Machine friends to help us take out some dirty Mervs and then someone in our team starts attacking the Machines. If you are attacked by an allied member and it was ON PURPOSE, then by all means... fire at will.
5. RECRUITMENT
A. Only crew Captains and First Mates can recruit. Period. If a crew captain sees someone in their crew list that they don't know and that the first mate did not recruit, they will be removed without notice. There is a recruitment process that all captains and first mates are aware of. If you come across a potential recruit, let an officer know and an interview will be set up.
6. The Divided Road: Disciplinary Action
There may come a time in which, the faction must end a relationship with a faction member. But the decision to remove a member should follow a clear path (unless the nature of the violation requires immediate explusion- example spying on The Trust).
Here are the actions that The Faction heads will take.
A complaint is received The complaint will be evaluated for validity. Is the complaint true? Does it violate The Trust standards? How does it effect the group as a whole.
Valid complaint warrants meeting If the complaint is valid, then the captain will meet with the offender. and the offender is put on 1st probation.
Complaints continues If the complaints continue or there is no sign of an adherence to The Trust standards, another meeting will be held with the Trust Council. If the matter warrants, a final warning will be given and the offender is put on 2nd probation.
Final Complaint If the valid complaints continue after the meeting with the Trust Council. A final vote will be taken. The vote will be final and at that point, an individual might find that their path divides from that of the faction.
**Certain members recruited (back) into the faction may receive a probation status in coming in**
7. MISCELLANEOUS
A. Please keep yourself up to date on information on both our forums and on the main MxO forums. You will be held responsible for that information. Your commanding officers are going to assume that you have read the news and updates on both forums.
B. Rank is something that needs to be earned. No one is "entitled" to move up in rank based on level alone. You will be promoted based on roleplaying technique, maturity, forum activity, event performance, and by many other criteria. Constantly begging and annoying your officers into promoting you DOES NOT WORK.
