Eyes0nly made his way through the wreckage to the communications consoles. The entire ship was a mess, he'd be amazed if she was able to make it to New Zion. He was, however, no expert on hovercrafts, so it was quite possible enough repairs could be made to the ship to get it going.
Upon reaching the consoles, he was impressed that they were in pretty good shape compared to the rest of the ship. It should only take him a few moments to get it repaired enough to send out the messages. He got to work, examining cables to see if they could still be used and working on the signal so it would reach New Zion.
"Zion Command this is Eyes0nly of the Devildog. We have reached The Titan and are preparing to move her into New Zion. Over." He stopped, waiting a few moments before the crackle of a response could be heard.
"Roger that Eyes0nly, we will be awaiting your arrival. Over."
"Roger that. Over and out."
There, New Zion would be ready for The Titan's arrival. If we can get her there, that is. Eyes took a moment before reconfiguring the signal so that he could send a message to the Devildog. So far so good.
"This is Eyes0nly on board The Titan, Symmetric do you copy? Over."
"I copy Eyes, good to hear your voice."
"We have notified New Zion and we are assessing the damages. Theres no sign of that sentinel, I think it must have moved -" Eyes stopped dead as a shout came from the medical bay.

"Thanks but no thanks is the gist of the message" Rage finishes writing down the return message from The Shadrack. "And it seems the captain has stopped Sue from speaking to you as well." "Looks as if you aint the flavour of the month Cap",smiles Toto.
"I can understand thier reluctance to except help from an unknown. I would probably do the same. ASSidd, can you shadow The shadrack, Keep us far enough away so as not to get them trigger happy, but close enough to take on the Sentinel if he moves towards them?"
"Great, all this new tech and we get to play hide and seek with a metel octopus. Ah well, consider it done".ASSidd swivells in his chair to face the controls.FOSSMAN flicks the intercom. "Kov, how are the engines holding up ?".
Kovarin was the engineer and the oldest member of the crew. He flicked the intercom switch " what do you want met to say. Everything is great dandy even. The new engine parts are online and Bravo is fitting the last of the injectors now. Then I'm going to make a new ship out of the spare parts because I have sooo much time on my hands! " FOSSMAN smiled to himself. " and the new shielding? " " The new shielding the new guns the new screens the damn new toilet all work fine sorry I didnt get round to painting everything yet!!" Thank you Kov..always a pleasure " Assid looked at his radar. " We should be able to see The Titan soon. Not far to go now.
"Anything else out there that you can pick up?"
"Just on the edge of the screen..It could be another HC . I should know more in a minute or two" "Could be that Zion had another ship closer than we new".said Toto
"Lets hope thats all thats out there" Said FOSSMAN " Make sure everyones at their stations,I dont want to be cought out..by anyone. If the Sentinel is around we should be able to slow him down a bit so they can deal with there wounded"
" Thats if we get to take a shot before he attacks us" "Gee , thanks for that ASSidd!" says Toto as he takes up his position in the co pilot seat. " My pleasure " "Rage keep checking all frequencies for chatter. I want to know as soon as anyone sees the Sentinel..or even thinks they see him."
"No worries FOSS" comes the reply
///////////////////////////////////////////
FOSSMAN walks across the bridge of The Arc and looks at the map layed out in front of him. Not much of a map granted. All these tunnels look the same. But if youve been down here for awhile you get to know the quikest entrances and exits..just in case. His mind wanders to Sue he smiles . Ive got your back kid.

((Again, a post from Shadow_Watcher on DN1))
Perhaps time was a matter of personal perspective.
With a silent stillness that drained what little color remained among the ash and scrap metal of the Real world, she could only watch the long cross-shaped claw loom behind her beloved, moving without moving - its tendril of a serpentine arm being behind him, then to his left, then around his waist, before pulling sharply in a moment that took an eternity to happen.
She could see it in his face. She watched as the expression of one so happy to see their love alive and unharmed turned slowly to one of surprise... shock... horror. By awakened human standards, Fenshire had lived a long time, and in that time his reflexes had been honed considerably. Even so, the triumphant, carefree sparkle in his eyes had not completely faded when his head snapped forward with the force of his body being suddenly drawn back out of the hole in the medbay ceiling, tethered to the end of that black arm like a fishing lure. Or perhaps she had been the lure, and he the fish.
Reflexes or not, he was, after all, only human. And the last thing that RedBindi saw was his body crumpling in upon itself as he was wrenched from her side - almost as if he were lost in the darkness to the crushing gravity of some unknown Void.
Perhaps time was a matter of personal perspective.
For the others, the wounded, and the would-be rescuers alike, the events unfolded in a moment so quick that those whose eyes happened to be closed for the instant of a blink might have missed it. Even those whose eyes were trained never to blink in such situations might barely have caught the flash of black metal, the tensing of Fenshire's muscles, the rag-dolling of his body as it flew backwards at an alarming pace... For them, there would only be the moments after - the silence of the broken ship, and the emptiness of the hole in the medbay ceiling - that hole into nothing that had snatched up their hero, and their friend. It was a silence that would sit for another agonizing moment of eternity...
... Before being broken by a scream of pain and horror, finally allowed to be loosed from lips frozen in their own disjointed perspective of the passage of time.
Perhaps time was a matter of personal perspective.
For the Sentinel itself, time existed as a perpetual present - single calculations by the millisecond. Action, reaction, re-action... And yet, all the past calculations, and all the future calculations that might be extrapolated from the present data set existed in the same space - in the sphere of active possibility.
The rotors in the arm moved the joints, setting up the chain reaction that would whip the arm forward, its cross-shaped claw closed in a deadly spike aimed for Fenshire's delicate human spine. With the ease of operating for its designed purpose, it penetrated his chest cavity, showering his lover with a thick spray of blood as the deadly harpoon tore its way through his heart, before retreating into the blackness from whence it had come.
Of course, it hadn't actually happened like that, and thus Fenshire wasn't dead... yet. That would have been far too simple, and barely interesting enough for the lengths required to achieve such a feat. It might have been good for a run-of-the-mill machine, but this thing was clearly no ordinary parts. Or, perhaps the ordinary nature of its parts were its most clever disguise. Whatever the reason for not designating the purely efficient and ultimately boring path, the thing had flown away, its catch existing in a state that was ultimately uncertain, but momentarily safe... Perhaps.
... Perhaps time was a matter of personal perspective.
Perhaps Fenshire's time was running out.

((Posted by Thera on DN1.))
A timer buzzed loudly throughout in the silent alcove, and echoed off of walls and down long-empty corridors until it reached the outside world and faded into silence. The research wing was the only section of the outpost that was still active, save for the perimeter defense and life-support systems. The rest of the station was dark, though a few faint LEDs remained to mark the path to the main docking bay. The expansive complex gave the illusion of being abandoned. Cold and lifeless… yet it was not entirely empty. In the central medical facility, thirty-six coffin-like chambers lined the walls; all but two of them currently occupied.
In a dimly lit room within, a woman quieted the timer as she frowned over the results of her latest test. A complete loss. Failure. …Again.
“They’ll be fine, my lovely.” A young girl perched on the edge of the stool lifted her cherubic face and giggled.
The woman paused before answering, “Ultimately, yes. For now, they’re stable. But they aren’t out of danger yet. …None of us are.” Slender fingertips met the cool surface of the central stasis unit for a moment, then she turned away from the man sleeping beneath the glass. She leaned against the chamber and closed her eyes before she spoke again, “He intends to kill Fen, you know.”
The child inclined her head, “You can’t very well prevent one from killing the other. If he wants out that badly, he’ll find a way. …As you can see, we can survive out here just as you can.”
“Evidently.” The barest hint of a smile touched the woman’s lips. “…I’m just worried, and this feeling of… wrongness is driving me mad. I can swear I hear his whispering, even now… but that’s impossible. Or crazy. …Or both.” She paused and shook her head before continuing, “…Not to mention, I have no idea where either of them are, Char.”
The girl laughed softly as her tiny fingers tapped away at a keypad. “No? You gave Fenny some old weapons when we were upgrading the defense systems on your ship, oh-so-long-ago.”
“Of course, but I disabled all trans –“ Thera’s voice trailed off as a pair of faint dots flickered onto the screen.
Charlenna smirked, “You did. Now, there’s Fen; I wonder if the other will be there as well…? ”
~*~
Her craft spun a bit as it lowered into the abyss, and knocked some chunks of wreckage into the void below. For a few moments the only sound - other than the soft hum of the ship - was the echoing clatter of stone as the debris was swallowed by the darkness.
Thera shivered involuntarily as she descended into the depths of the tunnel. The atmosphere was thick and murky; a far cry from the expanse of relatively open air on the surface, and it did little to allay her worry. She checked the blips and was startled to see that they hadn’t moved in some time; it appeared that the Devildog had come to rest. At least Fen would be easier to catch up to now, though he might wonder what had possessed her to seek him out. What would she say, that she’d had a ‘feeling’? True as it was, the reason sounded utterly ridiculous, even to her. Either way, she was too close to simply turn back.
Up ahead, tiny pinpricks of light weakly flickered in the darkness. Impulsively, she set her ship down to avoid being seen. Her unease grew as she debated between waiting or venturing forth on foot. Curiosity won, and she stepped out into the gloom of the tunnel.

He’d never looked as good to her as he did in that moment she first opened her eyes and saw his face hovering just inches from hers. She had heard his voice fading in and out of the oppressive darkness she felt trapped within and that had given her the will to fight it again. It should have been easy to open her eyes and respond to him, to his distress. Instead she had to climb and claw her way towards the flickering lights, towards his voice and warmth, each moment bringing a little more clarity to her fogged mind. They had crashed and he had come, that was all she knew at this moment in time, but it was all she needed to know. In that moment he was her world, the one thing keeping her here, staving off the darkness that even now tried to envelope her again.
Her world was shattered as the long grey tentacle wove its way through the opening above her. In her mind she screamed, pushed him out of the way, and rolled out of the way herself… but only in her mind. In reality she lay there frozen, unable to move or even warn him of the approaching danger. In horror she watched the tentacle wrap itself around his waist and snatch him from her side.
Her ears were filled with the sound of someone screaming, a sound filled with such pain and horror she wondered for a brief moment if it was even human. Then she realized it was her and he was gone.
She wanted to move, to leap out the hole after him, protect him as he had protected her. She told her muscles to move, to sit up, to stand and leap, but they ignored her… her mind still disjointed from her body. She told her mouth to move, to yell at those figures at the edge of her vision to move, to find him… to save him, but no sound emerged. She lay there helpless to protect the man who had protected her so many times before.
His warmth gone, the darkness came again drawing her back into the limbo she inhabited before.
The sound of her heart wrenching scream died away as their captain lost consciousness again, plunging the room into an unnatural silence for a few brief moments as the rest crew tried to absorb what had just happened. In the minds of the crewmen the silence lasted an eternity, in reality they began moving only seconds after Fenshire disappeared. Wheeler leaping up and grabbing an EMP rifle before climbing out the hole, Vapor and Leon close behind. Lovable and Covenant grabbing the cot RedBindi lay on and swiftly moving her across the room. Thonemica draping herself protectively over Luminarium, just in case the thing came back for someone else.
In the sentinels grasp Fenshire struggled, wrestling to no avail at the arm encircling his waist. In the back of his mind he wondered why he wasn’t dead yet, he would soon find out.

Eyes0nly ripped off his headset and bolted toward the med-bay. He dodged piece of metal shooting out from the sides and floor. Another shout came from the med-bay, this time it was one of sheer horror. He was sure he'd run into the room to see a group of dead bodies, murdered at the cold, metallic hands of the sentinel.
Upon reaching the doorway, he witnessed Wheeler, Vapor, and Leon grabbing their EMP guns. Covenant and Lovable were already moving RedBindi out of the room. Fenshire's absence sent a chill down Eyes's spine, he hoped for his captain's safety. Scanning the room, he noticed Thenemonica draped over Luminarium's body. Swiftly, he moved over to them.
"Come on we need to get her out of here." He took one end of the cot while Thenemonica took the other. As quickly as they could, they moved out of the med-bay and followed Covanent and Lovable.

The Shadrack makes its way slowly though the tunnels of the real.
“Were coming up on the coordinates of the Titan, Deff,” Dragonnite announces from the rear station.
“Hit the lights, lets have a look at her, Deffdog says as he takes the copilot seat next to Suezuki. The lights flicker on to show the wreckage of the titan, with hull breaches across much of her outer hull.
“Deff I am picking up another Hovercraft, it’s beacon identifies as the Devildog, she must be landed a few clicks away.”
“I’ve suspected as much, send a message to them let them know where out here. Well stay in the air unless were needed on the ground.”
The Lights move slowly across the hull when suddenly out of the hull of the Titan rises the Rogue Sentinel and shoots down the tunnel in a blur.
“What the hell was that?!,” Dragonnite asks with a stunned voice, I saw it but our sensors didn’t.”
“Shit must have been the Sentinel,” Deffdog pauses as he sees Suezuki, plotting a pursuit course. He places his hand on her shoulder, “Sue the priority right now is the Titan. Well get a chance at it, but not today.” Sue looks up at Deff, with a disappointed look. But nods and begins resetting the console to a scanning patrol.
“We better stay battle ready, it might come back, and we may be the Titans only Defense. Drag head back and join Hunter and Pyro on the Gun Turrets, we will need all the firepower we can get.”
Deffdog turns on his headset to the broadcast deck, “Jazz, try raising the Titan, we need to know what’s going on down there.”
“Aye captain,” Jazz responds. Jazz begins entering commands into her console and extends the broadcast antenna.
“Titan this is Jazz, of the Hovercraft Shadrack, we are in the tunnel above you ready to provide any assistance you need. We spotted the Sentinel exiting the Titan, is everyone alright down there? .. I repeat this is the Hovercraft Shadrack..”
